Aims Objective Organisation

 

Aims

The European Mettray Organisation(EUROMET) actively promotes and supports the principles enshrined in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. It aims to achieve the following:

a) To give support and co-operation to joint comparative action research projects, to share resources and expertise through contributing to an exchange of knowledge experiences and information. To Promote seminars, symposiums and workshops on specific professional subjects which have an 'across Europe' interest and dimension.

b) To influence policies and legislation affecting the care, education and treatment of youth in deprived situations, both mutually, in member countries and in European and international Law.

c) To co-operate in the promotion of educational opportunities for youth and staff members through arranging exchanges and linking into universities and other academic institutions. To the improvement of professional education, care and treatment practice with young people and their families.

 

 

d) To seek additional funding and grants to set up 'pilot projects' i.e. action research programmes, etc. which can contribute to the improvement of the education, employment, opportunities and treatment of deprived youth.
